Pitching Lessons

Each pitching lesson is broken up into many specific parts and range in time anywhere from 45-90 minutes depending upon age and skill level.

There is no set plan for an individual as every pitching lesson is individualized.  We plan our lessons to exploit each athletes strengths and develop and strengthen their weaknesses.

Dynamic Warm Up: Jogging for 5 minutes is not enough of a warm up for young athletes.  Warming up the overall body through an entrie range of motion is necessary to not only get him ready for a high intensity level of training, but also develop motor skills and body control.

Integrated Flexibility/Joint Stability: An essential part, especially with pitching and injury prevention in the shoulders.  Not only are we improving flexibility in the shoulders, but we are also improving strength through hypertrophy and neurological adaptions, through an entire range of motion.

Postural Stability: A major issue with young athletes is the inability to maintain their posture throughout their delivery.  This not only leads to an increased risk of injury but also limits their ability to improve and properly deliver the baseball.

Pitching Drills: Drills include towel drills, stick drills, and body awareness drills which are based on each athelet’s individual needs.  Some may focus heavily on drills, some may not.

Bullpens/Command:  Depending upon the time of year and how far along an athlete is, this may include 15 pitches from flat ground working on location or a simulated 5 inning game.

Core Strength:  The foundation of pitching mechanics, velocity, and injury prevention is a solid and strong core, both in the abdominals, obliques, posterior change (back), hip flexors, and glutes.  Not only do we need strength, but also strength through a large range of motion.  We will target this through many different pitching specific exercises.

Static Flexibility:  Upper body and lower body flexibility improvements.

Mental:  5-10 minutes of a lecture plus at home assignments.

Each lesson is $55 for one athlete and can be done anywhere that is convenient for both parties.  We also offer discounted lesson packages.  We have found that groups of two work the best since during rest times, the other athelte can observe and learn.  Two athlete lessons are $90.  With 3+ athletes, we have found that instruction and efficiency drop off fairly dramatically and don’t recommend it, but we have and will adapt to any situation so please contact us for rates.  \

We also offer individual 10 minute video analysis posted up on YouTube! for $50.

We prefer to work outside so we can work on a long toss program but an indoor facility can be arranged due to weather or time of day.  We are contracted out at the locations in Lynnwood, Sammamish, Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, Shoreline, Woodinville, and Everett.  Please contact us today to get started!
